We are all familiar with the welcome mat. It sits in front of a door at the entrance of a home or a business. It lets visitors know they’re going to be treated with hospitality and that their presence is appreciated. The Community Partnership takes the welcome mat to the next level.
Every month, we offer a Welcome Tour and lunch for community members, so they have an opportunity to get an in-depth look at the programs and services that we offer. Our staff, who really are on the front lines in so many ways, take time to share stories with our guests – often deeply personal, inspiring, and eye-opening.
By having this tour, it also allows community members to see how our funds are utilized. “Here’s how your donation dollars are spent, here’s how we use grant funding, this is how we all make a difference.”
When our invited guests cross over that welcome mat, they see the programs in action, along with the most important factor – the genuine passion for the causes that we represent at this office.
Our Welcome Tours are strictly one hour – from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. We give a brief history of the Partnership, and introduce you to a hardworking local non-profit organization that values connections and relationships. You’ll learn things about us that you probably didn’t know. That’s something we hear at every Welcome event – “I didn’t know The Community Partnership did THAT! I thought it was just a resale shop! I didn’t realize your office was located on Hauck Dr. I didn’t realize you had so many helpful programs! I know someone who could use this program!”
A short video is also used to highlight some of our incredible participants and all that they have accomplished. It really drives home how a community of caring people can truly make a difference. We strive to get you in and out in one hour, so lunch is provided during that time too!
We schedule our Welcome Tours in advance. We ask that you reserve your spot. Consider this your personal invitation! Just contact me, Mark Long, at 368-2849 and make your reservation to attend. The best way you can learn about who we are and what we do is to cross over our welcome mat and see us in action. We love to answer questions that you might have, too!
I look forward to scheduling you or your small group for a tour in the future. We are always looking for new friends to share support or volunteer with us, and make our community an even better place to live. We count on our guests taking that information and sharing it with others. We challenge you to come to a Welcome Tour and discover what’s on the other side of our door.
Thank you for taking the time to read this blog, and we look forward to seeing you. When we all pull together, we see great things being accomplished in our part of Missouri.
COME ON IN! You are welcome at The Community Partnership!
