Linking Hearts Adoption Fair

About Us

Linking Hearts is a state-wide adoption event aimed at finding forever families for youth in state custody. What makes this event so special is that it is unlike any other adoption oriented event in the state and has even gained National recognition.  This event is completely community driven and would not be possible without the support of the 25th Circuit Children’s Division, Missouri University of Science and Technology Greek System, and our generous community donors.

Our Goals

To help find youth adoptive families or establish permanent connections,

To highlight the need for loving homes and possibly recruit new foster or adoptive families

To make these youth feel special and loved

What Children Should Expect

  • During the day, (1pm-4pm) youth come to The Centre to swim, make crafts, and play games.

  • At the conclusion of their time at the Centre (around 4pm), the youth are matched with a “Buddy” that serves as their best friend/mentor for the remainder of the evening. At this time, youth are presented with a personalized gift bag, complete with their wish-list items or those related to their interests

  • Finally, the youth are taken to Lions Club Park (around 5pm), where the Missouri S&T fraternities and sororities have converted their Greek Week Carnival into a family friendly event, complete with food, games, and fun!

  • Youth MUST pre-register (case worker submits registration form)

About the Event

  • Portion open to the public is from 5-7pm at Lions Club Park in Rolla, MO

  • Typically, we have youth of both genders, a variety of races, and all ages (including sibling groups) from across the state of Missouri that are eligible for adoption attend. However, we don’t usually know any specifics about each year’s attendees until right before the event.

  • Event is free and includes dinner and carnival games

  • No obligation opportunity to inquire about the foster/adoptive process as well as meet specific youth (if interested)

  • Pre-Registration is NOT required for families interested in attending – just check in when you arrive at the park.

  • You may bring your biological children if you would like, but please note that the focus will be on the youth in care.

  • We will announce the 2017 September event date in July.
