Community Work Support Project

The Community Work Support Project aids needy families who have had their TANF (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families) reduced/sanctioned because they are unable to participate in the work requirements due to barriers (transportation, lack of childcare, abuse, etc.).

To be eligible for this program, one must be currently receiving TANF and have been sanctioned (portion withheld) or are in danger of being sanctioned.

The types of assistance that CWSP can provide to help people restore or maintain their full TANF benefit include:

  • SATOP (Substance Abuse Traffic Offender Program)
  • Driver’s License
  • Low interest loan for a car
  • Vehicle licensing
  • Car repairs
  • Car insurance
  • Gas money
  • Childcare
  • Substance abuse treatment
  • Medical expenses

We serve clients who reside in Crawford, Dent, Maries, Phelps, Pulaski, or Texas counties.
