GREAT NEWS!
UPDATE: We had some bad scares this spring but it looks like brighter days are ahead. The House Appropriations Committee cut all funding for Community Partnerships but our own Representatives Dan Brown and Jason Smith worked to get most of the funds restored in the House Budget Committee. Then, Senator Barnitz worked to keep us in the Senate Appropriations so we made it all the way to the Governor's desk....AND GOVERNOR NIXON SIGNED IT! If you get a chance please thank our legislators for keeping Community Partnership funding in the budget. Our board also deserves a big thanks for all their work to let everyone know how important this funding is to our work.
Below is the original appeal and legislator contact information you could use to thank our elected officials.
The Community Partnership Needs Your Help!
Last week, the Missouri House Budget Committee responsible for the Social Services budget recommended the elimination of Community Partnership funding from General Revenue. This is the funding that holds all of our programs together. If you believe our work is important, please contact your local elected representative as soon as possible. Please ask them to:
- Restore the Community Partnership Program funding in the Family Support Division Budget of the Department of Social Service in the amount of $616,924 from General Revenue (HB2011 Section 11.080).
