Last week Martha Edwards joined The Partnership team and is working valiantly to move us into the social media world. We are now on Twitter @yourpartnership and if this means anything to you I hope you will follow us! If you are not a Twitter fan there is a whole new language that I have been trying to learn but it is not as easy as Martha makes it look! I am embarrassed to admit that when I first used a "mouse" I had a very hard time controlling it too - so maybe some day Twitter may come naturally to me!

Linking Hearts Countdown!

Linking Hearts is a fun, relaxed, and unique event designed to bring together youth eligible for adoption and potential families. The day is made possible by our community, especially the Greeks of Missouri S&T who design the day so youth feel special and possibly find permanent homes.
The event this year will be held on Friday, September 16th at Lion's Club Park. If you know of a family who is interested in adoption or learning more about the foster and/or adoption process please invite them to visit our website where they can find additional information. I will give you a little more information in my next Notes!

Sewing for a Great Sleep!

Sewing Endeavors is an ecumenical service group that sews every week at the First United Methodist Church in Rolla. This groups provides sewn items for many mission projects in our community and around the world. They make backpacks of love, layette quilts, school kits, and stockings for Christmas. They also have generously supported The Partnership.
The Community Partnership's Early Care and Education (ECE) Program serves approximately 50 childcare programs who serve more than 1,100 children in our region. All programs enrolled in ECE contract with the State to accept subsidy assistance for families who live at lower income levels. The subsidy payments are so low providers must often subsidize the cost of care. This year Sewing Endeavors sewed more than 250 cot sheets for local childcare providers saving them $2,125.
Cot sheets are required and greatly appreciated; and because they are free programs can now met the many other needs of children in their care. ECE is so appreciative of Sewing Endeavors and their on-going commitment to better the lives of children.

Our Community Builders and Board of Directors had a lovely reception for Dr. Carney at the home of Theresa and Dick Brow. We thanked Jack for all the wonderful support he has given The Partnership and presented him with a photo book of Partnership activities.
We have had wonderful success at our new Resale Shop location (under Big-O Tires) and are so very grateful for your donations. Don't forget we have a truck that can pick up big loads - and we always need furniture. If you have a load for us please give the Resale Shop a call 573.426.5923 and see if we can arrange a pick-up for you. Thank you again for your generous support!
Oh, I forgot - Martha said to "like" us on Facebook!
