I couldn't decide what to put in the title of this note so I will leave the ending up to you! It has been a summer of a ups and downs, and I guess as with everything in life, how one deals with adversity or joy determines the quality of one's life. I am working on being non-judgmental and being grateful and sometimes this is a real challenge but I am going to keep working at it! Hope this summer is one you find joy in too!

Splash Zone!

This is an event we are very grateful for - Capable Kids and Families Day at Splashzone! The Wal-Mart Distribution Center 6069, in St. James, sponsors this great event for us each year. Families and kids have a wonderful time playing and meeting one another. A mom commented last year that because of her child's disability they never get to do outing like this. She was so grateful for the opportunity, the fun, new friends, and the memories she and her family created that day. This picture is from last year and I can't wait to share the pictures from this years event!

Sharing all the Time!

Some of you may have heard that one of our Capable Kids and Families staff members, Beth, lost her home to a fire. We all wanted to help and asked Beth what we could do. Well, Beth did not ask for anything for herself but asked if we would all bake cookies for the firefighters who came to their rescue. So, pictured here are some of the bakers and non-bakers from our office who honored Beth's request. I am so proud to work with the amazing people here at The Partnership and Beth's "ask" is just another example of why I am so grateful to work here.

I hope you had a great 4th of July - I had a special one because I was able to view the fireworks in St. Louis from a terrific spot. My friend Kathy had two tickets to watch the show from the 15th floor of an office building right in front of the Arch - amazing! Not as great as fireworks but I thought you might like a little FYI - we have some great buys at the Resale Shop - including some brand new girls flip-flops and purses - please stop by and shop or bring by your donations!
