Well, our wonderful new Resale Shop opened on Friday September 3rd - our official Grand Opening is scheduled for Friday September 24th but we are opened for business!
September is a busy month - Linking Hearts, Mentor Training, ECE Group Training, and CKF Advisory Council meeting. Please visit our website as we are getting better at keeping it more up-to-date. (Now we just have to learn how to fix that darn calendar!)

September 17, 2010 - Linking Hearts

| Above: Youth Working on Craft Projects and Missouri University of Science and Technology Student ready to buddy up!
|
Linking Hearts is right around the corner! This is such an amazing day of fun, food, and growing friendships. We have so many partners that make this day possible. Some include The City of Rolla who lets us spend the afternoon at the Centre playing games and making crafts. Lions Club allows us the use of their great park for a family friendly carnival. This whole day would not be possible without the InterFraternity Council and Panhellenic Council of Missouri University of Science and Technology.
S&T Greeks are the best! They plan the games, purchase and cook the food, and some members even volunteer to be a mentor for the day. I love to see them matched with their young buddies. This day gives college students an opportunity to learn more about foster care and adoption and gives youth the chance to learn more about college life and the opportunity to have fun with an admired older friend.
I can't wait to see what types of games the Greeks have come up with this year. In the past, games have included a remote control boat race, a human powered slot machine, and very elaborate dunking booths. If you are interested in learning more please give us a call or visit the Linking Hearts section of our website. Hope to see you at Lion's Club next week!

| Moving Day - Thanks to this Amazing Community we Did It!
|
Wow - we live in such a generous community! Last weekend was proof of our many supporters - who in about four hours helped us fill our new 10,000 square foot facility. A-1 Moving and Storage gets major credit for helping us store and move many semi-trucks of merchandise - what a wonderful local business!
S&T football players and others helped us pack up the old store and lots of wonderful supporters helped us move into our lovely, new, large shop under Big O Tires on Highway 63 North! Special thanks to Greentree Christian Church, Wesley Campus Ministry, Christian Campus Fellowship, Delta Sigma Phi, Phi Kappa Theta, Community Builders, and so many more! And special thanks to Phelps County Bank for providing lunch on Saturday of the move!
Our official Grand Opening is set for September 24, 2010 but we are open and ready for business! If you have furniture, household goods, collectibles, or clothing we are ready to take donations! I just packed up all of my unmatched socks and some very old shirts and marked them for bailing. This is the best - if you have things that are clean and dry but really don't have any life left we can take them - just put them in a bag marked "bail" and we will recycle them for you. We work with the Sheltered Workshop who bails clothing for us and then we sell it and the funds are used to support Partnership programs!
Please come visit us - we have a map to our new location on the front page of our website and a much better listing of all the great folks who helped us move! The Partnership Resale Shop - local donations meeting local needs - thanks to you!

I cannot begin to tell you how very much we appreciate all you do for The Partnership. Your generous donations of time, money, and resources makes all we do possible.
If you haven't heard yet, please don't forget to save the date for our October 27th fundraiser - I look forward to seeing everyone. If you are interested in attending and haven't been asked yet please let Lori know. We need all of our generous supporters to keep going.
Thank you!
