Well, I guess March did come in like a lamb so this cold wet weather is to be expected - even if it is not appreciated! So, to send you a little cheer on this damp and cold day I am sending you a quick note - not too long on words - and with some great pictures!

Sensory Saturday and Leah Gets a New Swing!

Caryn Studyvin in our Capable Kids and Families department has sent me some great pictures and stories that I want to share with you! The first one about Sensory Saturday and the second a picture Caryn sent of Leah with the words "I love my job!"
On Saturday, March 5th, Capable Kids and Families had a family fun day called, Sensory Saturday. The board room was set up with sight, smell, taste, touch and feel activities to enjoy on a cold, cloudy morning. This is Abbigail, who is enjoying the visual sensations of the fiber optics mattress. The most fun activities seemed to be burying your friend's feet in moon sand, and jumping on bubble wrap to make the adults cover their ears. | |

Baby Bucks at Green Tree!

Well, our wonderful friends at Green Tree Christian Church came through again! Even in the midst of their construction they found room to feed us, put out a great Baby Bucks display, and made us feel so welcome. Robyn and Marilyn said this was one of the most organized and fun Baby Bucks and I think a couple of the pictures will give you an idea of the fun had by all!
Pictured at the right are a couple Moms getting ready to shop. The wonderful group of Green Tree volunteers who fed us an amazingly healthy and delicious dinner of taco salad are pictured in the middle right. The last picture is Rose and her sweet baby boy having fun!
One of the best parts of Baby Bucks is that the youth in our program get to shop for items they need with "money" they have earned by increasing their parenting skills. When they complete a home visit with Nancy or Parents as Teachers, or when they meet with their mentor or make their WIC appointments they earn Baby Bucks to spend twice a year at our Baby Buck Parties!
Our next Baby Bucks in in September so let us know if you'd like to help or if you are considering being a mentor Marilyn would love to hear from you!

Hope you enjoyed the pictures and hearing a bit of what is happening at The Partnership. We also had 40 Early Care and Education teachers join us for a Music and Movement class - Kathy seems to know quite a few more songs than the rest of us! We are also missing Lori and hoping our next Development Director joins us soon - please pass the word along that we are still looking for that special someone! Hope you have a lovely weekend - or at least a nice warm and dry one!
