Mentor Appreciation 2013
Mentors make a difference!
The Community Partnership’s Young Parents Program held a Mentor Appreciation Dinner at the Kensington Park Clubhouse in Rolla Thursday on May 16, 2013. Mentors in the Young Parents Program were invited to enjoy a dinner grilled by Partnership board members John Butz and Jodi Waltman, and development director Mark Long. Three of the mentors were given special recognition for their hard work and commitment to the program, which serves pregnant and parenting youth, ages 14-21. Crystal Brudos, Juli Jones and Martha Edwards were honored, with Edwards receiving the program’s Above and Beyond Award. The Young Parents Program is under the auspices of The Missouri Mentoring Partnership, and offers life skills and parenting classes, home visits, mentoring and more. Special speakers were Mary Culberson, Sharlene Morgan and Jim Finazzo, who shared their experiences in mentoring. Community Builders and board members were also present to celebrate the mentors and the Young Parents Program. Thank you gifts were provided by St. James Winery.
